ICSO Posse is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the residents of Iron County Utah.

We’re a team of citizen volunteers—people from every background—trained to support law enforcement and serve our community. Our members complete rigorous training in first aid/CPR, patrol techniques, and vehicle operations. We provide high‑profile patrols across the county, assist with major events, and respond when natural disasters hit.

As Sheriff Carpenter puts it, we are “force multipliers,” stepping in to bolster local law enforcement agencies whenever their personnel needs increase.

Your path to joining the Posse starts with a ride‑along. Go to the front counter at the Sheriff’s Office, fill out the ride‑along form, and specify that it’s for the Posse.

Next comes an interview with our command staff. We’re looking for people who put community first and understand that law enforcement work isn’t built around convenience. The hours can be long, the assignments tough, and sometimes the situations are dangerous. The pay is even worse.

We started the Geocache game with only one goal in mind. To have fun!  We thought it would be cool to engage with the citizens of Iron County and put on an occasional scavenger hunt.  We don't want the followers of our page to take this too seriously.  We will never place the cache anyplace dangerous so if you think the clues are leading you into danger, you are headed in the wrong direction!  We also want to share the fun with all the members of our community so we have limited your ability to win to once every three months.  When you find the cache, there will be a card inside explaining how to claim your prize.  YOU MUST return the cache container and card to claim your prize.  If you don't return our container, well, you're no daisy!  (Come on!  That is a great line!).  Don't make us go all DH on you!

We would like to add some local sponsors to the game.  If there are any local businesses who would like to offer a discount or free prize, just let us know and we will advertise your participation on our page.
